47 Save us, O LORD our God,
And gather us from among the Gentiles,
To give thanks to Your holy name,
To triumph in Your praise.
48 Blessed be the LORD God of Israel
From everlasting to everlasting!
And let all the people say, “Amen!”
Praise the LORD!
This is Trinity Sunday and I greet you in the name of the Triune God and urge you to draw close to the throne of grace this morning. The Holy Name of God is Father, Son and Holy Spirit. In just a moment we will be baptizing Liesl, and the Holy Name of God will be placed on her as she is baptized in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
But notice that every Sunday morning the Holy Name of God and the Triune God Himself is at the center of our worship. You are called by the Holy Spirit to be here. You Confess your sins and your faith to the Father. The Son will be lifted high in the reading of the Word, and He will draw you into fellowship with the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. All of it culminating in the Lord’s Supper. You will be sent out with a commission to go and spread the Gospel and a benediction will be placed upon you. That benediction will invoke the name of the Triune God once again.
He is the reason you are here this morning. Give thanks to His Holy name. Be intentional in your prayers and triumphant in His praise.
